Smart Utilities

Home <<

Utilities have been using supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) of their network and assets. BTE enhances a utilities SCADA system by enabling more data to be gathered and processed for greater supervisory and control and greater awareness for predictive analysis for increased ROI of their assets. Differences in regulation, resources, terrain, industry structure and even particular utility characteristics, drive significant differences in Smart Utilities strategies.

What We Can Measure:

- Temperture: Monitor and store temperature data for multiple areas using detachable (pre-calibrated) sensor probes feeding to one of our environment monitors. Ensure that vaccines, biological samples, blood and other critical elements are kept under the right temperature conditions. Generate daily, weekly or monthly reports for compliance requirements.

- Current and Amperage: Monitor current coming into the compressor motor.

- Vibration: Monitoring vibration on induction motors is at the core of any predictive maintenance program. Typical applications demand vibration measurements in the horizontal, vertical and axial direction on both the inboard and outboard motor bearings. Aside from typical mechanical issues, such as misaligned couplings and unbalance, the vibration analyst can also detect electrical issues that cause mechanical vibrations. Some common electrical faults include air gap variation, broken rotor bars and bearing fluting.

- Pressure: Monitoring water pressure.

- Flow: Make sure air is flowing through the racks in addition to monitoring A/C vent intake and outtakes.

- Threshold Alerts: 7 x 24 monitor and control, Generate daily, weekly or monthly reports for compliance requirements.
